Sarah - Dog Trainer and Instructor
Sarah, an experienced ADTB approved instructor has been involved with dog training for over 12 years. She started by training her mother in laws German Shepherd and then went on to train both her English Springer Spaniels with Woodmansterne Dog Training club. On completion of both her dogs’ diplomas, Sarah was asked to assist the instructors in class. Sarah spent a number of years shadowing the WDTC instructors who were predominantly Met Police Dog trainers or dog behaviourists, before being asked to instruct classes of her own at which point she completed her bronze level training with the Academy of Dog Training and Behaviour. Sarah has spent many years successfully assessing, training, fostering and rehoming English Springer Spaniels, firstly with English Springer Spaniel Welfare and more recently with the newly formed Just Springers Rescue.
Sarah lives at home with her husband, two young children and two English Springer Spaniels, one with a mild form of OCD, which over the years has proved both challenging and extremely rewarding as he is now a settled, happy dog. She also loves horses, and currently has a 22 year old cob which she has owned since he was 3.
Clare – Assistant Dog Trainer and Instructor
Clare has worked with all kinds of rescue dogs, retraining and rehoming them, for over three years and is particularly experienced with training bully type breeds. Staffordshire Bull Terriers (and crosses) are far too common in rescues currently, and usually do not do well in kennels due to their love of being with people. With Clare’s help and compassion, even the hardest to home have been able to find the right loving and permanent homes. Clare has attended the Naughty but Nice Dog Aggression Workshop (with Angela Stockdale) and completed a TTouch taster course – learning the basics of TTouch to apply to own dogs. Clare’s previous and current dogs include German Shepherds, Retrievers, and American Bull Dog and various other bull breeds. Her love of horses led her to previously work for one of the largest International equine charities and she is an experienced horsewoman, particularly loving native breeds. In her business life, Clare has a wealth of talent and experience in training and coaching adults. She is also a huge hit with children who really love to train with her. All of our trainers ensure that they continually develop their skills by keeping up to date with the latest advances in dog training and behaviour.
